【内容摘要】In recent years, China has seen an unprecedented boom in Translation Studies, thanks to an increasing interactive dialogue with the outside world, and underpinned by massive translation practices. Since Translation Studies has borrowed theoretical paradigms and research methodologies from other disciplines, hybrid formations of transdisciplinarity have been generated. Thus it tends to focus on investigating the cross-cultural and interdisciplinary process of recognition, construction, confrontation, and transformation. With dimensions of cultural and social attitudes, discourses, and myriad forms of power brought into the discipline, Translation Studies is empowered to shed light on the complex nature and dynamics of translation practice. In an increasingly globalized world, academic research in China has long extricated itself from its past state of isolation, although admittedly, traditional perception of translation is still firmly upheld by some translation scholars and practitioners alike. Nowadays, somewhat frustrated by lack of new disciplinary breakthroughs, many scholars are notably engaged in exploring and developing more effective approaches to translation research and practice so as to be in a better position to examine the transformative nature and power of translation as well as the implications of translation strategies and the cross-cultural context within which such strategies are developed and implemented.

【嘉宾介绍】

孙艺风，香港岭南大学翻译系教授及人文学科研究中心研究员、翻译学方向博士生导师，西南大学等数所高校客座教授。先后在南京大学、卡迪夫大学、西敏斯特大学、剑桥大学、莱顿大学和牛津大学等校学习和从事研究工作，获学士、硕士和博士学位。曾任国际翻译与跨文化研究协会(IATIS)副主席，英国广播公司(BBC)英语教学节目主持，暨南大学外国语言文学研究所名誉所长；现任中国翻译协会(TAC)理事，国际译联(FIT)翻译与文化委员会委员，英国皇家人文艺术学会(RSA)会士。出版著作包括:Translating Foreign Otherness (待出),《文化翻译》(北京大学出版社，2014),Fragmentation and Dramatic Moments (Peter Lang, 2002), Cultural Exile and Homeward Journey (外研社，2005) 及《视角、阐释、文化》(清华大学出版社，2004；2006)。合编Translation, Globalisation and Localisation (Multilingual Matters, 2008) 等；主编Anthology of Twentieth Century Chinese Literature: Novellas and Short Stories (Springer, 2014)及；合（英）译《天津江湖传奇》（中国文学出版社，1998）等。大量论文发表于Modern Language Quarterly, ARIEL: A Review of International English Literature, Babel, Across Languages and Cultures, Perspectives, Comparative Literature Studies, Journal of Multicultural Discourses, Journal of Translation Studies, Neohelicon, Intercultural Communication Studies, Journal of Modern Literature in Chinese, Asia Pacific Translation and Intercultural Studies,《中国翻译》、《上海翻译》和《翻译季刊》等中外学术刊物。曾在牛津大学、伦敦大学、香港大学、澳门大学、台湾师范大学、清华大学、复旦大学、浙江大学、中山大学等校讲学。
