【嘉宾介绍】
Editor Diane Nottle is currently a teacher at the international school of JNU. Being an expert in the field of journalism, Diane used to work as an editor for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Roanoke Times and etc. She was an advisory board member and mentor, UPI Next. She also did freelance writing and editing with more than 200 feature articles published in newspapers. Diane was an ESL coach to international students, Graduate School of Journalism, City University of New York and etc. Diane received her B.A. in journalism and B.A. in political science from Pennsylvania State University, and later achieved her master of liberal studies degree in women’s studies from Boston University. Additionally, she was the recipient of fellowship from Oxford University and Duke University.

 

【讲座摘要】 
This lecture will cover the two basic principles of Western-style journalism and show how they are applied to translations of JNU news. It will also explore how you can attract readers and hold their attention through storytelling techniques, imagery, language and typography.
