Two sessions, China’s biggest annual political event, may be postponed this year, as more focused efforts are needed at the moment to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak. 

两会是我国一年一度最重要的政治活动，今年为了聚力新冠肺炎疫情攻坚战，全国两会或将推迟召开。

 

The term two sessions refers to the annual plenary sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). 

两会是指“全国人民代表大会会议”和“中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会会议”。

 

Usually, the CPPCC National Committee starts its annual gathering on March 3, and the NPC on March 5. 

按照惯例，每年的人大会议和政协会议分别于3月5日和3月3日召开。

 

At the upcoming bi-monthly session of the NPC Standing Committee, which will kick off on Feb 24, members will discuss a draft proposal to postpone the third plenary session of the 13th NPC, according to a meeting of NPC Standing Committee chairs held on Monday in Beijing.

Passengers began disembarking on Wednesday from the virus-hit Diamond Princess cruise ship after spending two weeks in quarantine off Yokohama, near Tokyo, public broadcaster NHK reported.

The Diamond Princess, operated by Carnival Corp, has been quarantined in Yokohama since Feb 3 after a man, who disembarked in Hong Kong before it travelled to Japan, was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

The National Health Commission (NHC) on Wednesday issued an updated version of the diagnosis and treatment plan for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

国家卫健委2月19日发布《新型冠状病毒肺炎诊疗方案（试行第六版）》。

 

The latest version of the plan abolished different epidemic-related standards inside and outside the epicenter of Hubei Province, and will only identify "suspected cases" and "confirmed cases" across the country.

最新版诊断标准取消了湖北省和湖北省以外其他省份的区别，统一分为“疑似病例”和“确诊病例”两类。

 

The plan has been updated five times, with many effective treatment measures and considerable experience added to it to improve the treatment, according to an expert with the NHC.

国家卫健委有关专家表示，诊疗方案五次调整更新，将很多行之有效的治疗经验纳入其中，不断提高诊疗水平。

 

Content concerning antiviral therapy and treatments for severe cases and traditional Chinese medicine treatment have also been further amended in the new version of the plan.

"United by Emotion" will be the official Motto of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, organizers announced on Friday.

东京奥组委17日正式宣布奥运会和残奥会的主题口号为“United by Emotion（新华社译：激情聚会）”。

 

The Motto will be displayed, in English only, in a variety of environments and applications, such as at competition venues, on city decorations and on licensed goods. It will also feature in digital media, ensuring worldwide attention.
